What fly is this?

My buddy’s son found a few of these on the bank of the river we were fishing. I tied one on and it was the most effective fly that day. I have tied a whole bunch in copper and chartreuse. The head is just green, metallic, holographic thread and black tying thread. I like to think of it as a caddis larva - any thoughts? Anyone know if this sucker has a name too?

Looks like a brassie variant to me.

I’d agree with the Brassie and variant thought.
It also appears to have/had some hurl under the holographic head rap.
Also the barb is removed and the hook is dull as a hoe. It’s a scud type hook.
Maybe something somebody put together on drugs?
But if it works…

A Disco Brassie! Haven’t seen one of them since the 70’s!

Must be one of those “disco” brassies I heard tell about, but everybody knows that disco sucks.

Kelly.

with kglissmeyer. disco sdoes suck.:stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, it takes a macro shot to see how dull the hooks of my flies are. There is no herl on the fly at all. I’m not sure if you were joking about it being a disco brassie, but I like the name. I might have to steal it. Thanks for all the input.

Oh man, I thought that was one you picked off the shore! What brand is that?

Naw, I was jokin. But it does fit don’t it? LOL!

After comparing it to a Disco Midge, Disco Brassie fits rather nicely. I’d go with it.

EBAY special :frowning:

DSFlyman,

What size of hook is that?

Yhanks

Vinny

I was wondering the same thing… what size dull hook is that! Death be disco!
