What do you know scubatim can catch fish with the fly rod

Took the wife out to the local lake today and did a little fly fishing and what do you know ? I finally catch some actual keeper size fish. 2 Crappie both keeper size and both released to catch another day.

Not that I was gonna give up fly fishing but I sure needed this catch to get me re-focused.

You go Tim! Sometimes one has to hang tough and eventually the fish come to their senses.

I have had some bad days and know well how it feels to wear the smell of skunk.

Got skunked bad today! What made it worse was the way that my flys were attracting bluegill and LMB fish kissies! Very frustrating but in a got to laugh kind of way

Just takes persistance! My wife had a frustrating week when we were in Minnesota a few weeks ago, but she kept going. We went out to the pond a couple days ago for a tune-up and she did just fine. In fact, she caught most the fish that day and it was me that struggled. There are always dry spells, but if you stick with it you’ll notice they get shorter and farther apart 8)

This thread is useless (and unbelievable) without pictures!

Good for you Tim!

a valid point. Cynical and a bit cruel, but valid.
