After not tying for waaaaay to long, and wondering if I ever would again … here’s one of the DOZEN I tyed today, with materials I had at hand. (Darned if I was going to invest in new stuff, if I may not survive LA!!) Pretty exciting for me! No way would I have been able to vise-up that hook, or any size, before LA. Miracles do happen.
I call it my faux-tupps, and hope it proves to be indispensable!
tail is golden pheasant, body is sulfur yellow turkey biot, pink ostrich for the thorax, and light dun hen hackle, hook is a #16 TMC100

That’s a pretty fly. Now you’ve got me thinking that there are guy flies and gal flies. Maybe I am not catching many because my flies are too one gendered. I’ll have to start doing some female versions too!!!
