WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?? AFTER ALL THIS IS THANKS GIVING, A TIME FOR GIVING THANKS FOR A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST AND WHAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IN THE PAST YEAR!
I AM THANKFUL FOR THE COUNTRY THAT WE LIVE IN, MY WIFE AND CHILDREN, AND ALL MY FRIENDS HERE ON THE BB
I am thankful for more than I could ever list here, but most importantly for life itself and all who share this time and space with me. Both are an exceptional gift for which I am not worthy, but my God has seen fit to bless me with them.
I am thankful for life and all the wonderful people, family and extended family, including my fellow FAOLers, who are so much a part of the life with which God has blessed me.
God Bless & keep you all.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Mike
I’m thankful for my wife and son, that I live in a country where I’m free to worship and those who disagree with me are free to do so without fear of reprisal, I’m thankful that I have reasonably good health, I’m thankful that I still have a job, I’m thankful for every day I get to fish, I’m thankful for all of my friends and for the generosity so many on FAOL have shown. Most of all, I’m thankful for every breath the Lord allows me to take.
I’m thankful to have another day above ground, a good dog, cold beer, a warm place to sleep, loose shoes and many memories of trout filled days this past season.
I started a thread on Monday, 11-24 entitled THANKFUL thinking I would get this started. I guess I was too early. Only had 1 reply so I’ll copy and paste my gratitude list here. Oh, and now I’m thankful for the rain we are finally getting here in my desert. Jim
After reading Ladyfisher and Mr. Travis’ articles today I’m inspired to ask other FAOL readers: What are you thankful for?"
As for me I am thankful for my God, my wife, my home and my new fly rod. I’m thankful gas is below $2.00 a gallon for now. I
am thankful I found FAOL and the like-minded fishing people who support it. I am thankful for my family and friends.
I am thankful that I am retired and can go fishing when I want. Jimsnarocks
1 - I’m thankful for this land we live in, that most people take for granted…
2 - I’m thankful to have known the two men in my life that I lost this summer - my Dad and my Father-in-law… I only wish I could have learned more from them…
3 - I’m thankful for my wife and my family… I don’t deserve them…
4 - And I’m thankful for those men and women serving our great nation… who put country before self… and are serving away from home so that we can appreciate number 1 above…
I am thankful for God blessing me beyond anything I will ever deserve or expect.
I am thankful that today the whole family is here with us for a few days, both daughters, their husbands, and our first grandchild, three month old Tallis. Tallis is pretty much the center of attention a good part of the time. Wife Donna is really taking to this grandmothering stuff big time.
Our kids both turned out well, our son in laws are both good men and have good jobs. Both son in laws are engineers, as is our younger daughter, and our older daughter is a lawyer. All graduated from college with honors.
God is so good to me. Yesterday I went fishing for the second time in what for me is a long time dream, (I seem to have rather small dreams), but it is an aluminum jon boat that came my way late this summer. (Didn’t have any strikes and no fish, but it was a wonderful afternoon.)
I am thankful for each day the Lord gives me - for a life that has been greatly blessed with family and friends including my FAOL friends.
My prayer is that each of you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
