What about Bob?

Grant,
Wonderful story. There are more people out there like “Bob” than we realize. With some luck, perhaps some will cross our paths. Better yet, perhaps we could try to be more like “Bob”.
Thanks again Grant.

Bob (no relation to “Bob”)

There is a fine line between fly fishing, and standing in the water waving a stick.

Grant,

In one word … Superb

Thanx

I used to fish alone, … Always, … Heck the Wardens didn’t even want to bother me. They figured (and sometimes rightly so), that I wanted time to myself.

We DO get that certain reassurance though, when another angler shows up on a run. Especially when we thus far coming up empty. Makes us BELIEVE there should be trout there to be taken.

First impressions are a tough thing to overcome. Those we affectionately call “Mr. Orvis” often end up being the BEST listeners.

Another “stereo-type” is those like Bob. I like to glean the most information possible from any angler.

I love this sport 'cause I know I’m pretty good at it. But more so, 'cause I know I will NEVER MASTER it.

A friend once said,“Well, I learned something today, … That means I won’t die tonight in my sleep”.

Great reminiscence Grant! Thanks.

Thank you all for the kind remarks. Fishing and talking with Bob is something that will stick with me for a long time. Bob represents a lot of different fly fishers to many different people. I am sure we all know some sort of Bob charactor and am better off for knowing him.

I haven’t been around here much lately. Things have changed at work and internet use is now forbiddin unless company related.
Aside from that I am kept very busy both at work and at home.
When I do get a chance to poke my nose in the BB, there is so much to read and no time to reply.

Just thankful for the opportunity to share . - Yaf
