Well here is a shot of my smallie I had today, what a treat and what a fight on the #7/8 rod. Second cast of the day on a clouser.
Fish was in the 20 inch range.

Nice fish, but man, that is one ugly trout. 
Well I was surprised by the end of the day. I acutally hooked into a 12-13 inch resident rainbow as well. I have never seen one before and man all I have to say is what a treat. I didn’t have my trout net to get a pic with him, because they are feister than hell and got off while trying to get him while he was splashing around by my leg.
20" smallmouth sounds like a great day to me! Very nice fish!

A smallmouth on a flyrod is on my todo list. Just have to find a place I can get to where they live.

Careful! Catching smallmouth on the fly can become very addicting! Pound for pound one of the hardest fighting fish in fresh water! Nice job on a very nice bronzeback!

Great fish. My favorite fish on a flyrod…Smallies are what I fish for here in Ohio. 20" is considered a real prize around here… At least by my standards…ha! Nice Job.!
