i will go with a p-t softhackle, one great little flie!!!

REE & JZ, your both in. This should be a nice swap. These flies are so easy to tie I was almost tempted to shoot for 2-3 of a pattern.

Ron, thanks for the advice on the books. There starting to show up in my mail-box now. I’ll be tying my selection from “Wet Flies” by Dave Hughes.

Again, Welcome to the swap…Bud

I will tye a partridge and orange,If i may.

Welcome to the swap

may i join with a hare lug and plover? have just learned to tie wets–what a treat. now to learn how to fish them more effectively…

Well I haven’t been in a swap for awhile, and wets are my favorites so I would like to jump in this one. I will tie either a royal coachman or some sort of soft hackle maybe a little wired bodied job that has been a killer this year

CaseyP & Antron Midge, your both in,

Welcome to the Swap…Bud

I’d like to join in on this swap if you dont mind.

I’ll tie a Grey Hackle Peacock ala Don Bastian.

Sounds like a fun swap. John

Normand, bassman your both in Welcome to the swap!!

Bassman did you by any chance see cholcomb13’s “Stewart’s Black Spider” in the Fly Tying Forum? That fly rocks!

HC yes I did see it. It is fantastic. I just recently started tying spiders. So maybe not up to the same quality as his. . He is a good tyer. Thanks for letting me join in on this one. John

bassman , I got interested in them about 3 weeks ago in the “The Partridge and Yellow- A Classic Trout Fly” post. After reading JeffHamm, cholcomb13, Donald Nicolson, Arnie & Ron Eagle Elk’s threads, THEY! got me hook line & tippet. I ended up PMing Jeff, Ron & Donald for book recommendations. I’ve got like 4-5 books coming from England & here. The book’s in England were REALLY cheap… until you converted the # over to the almighty $.

hc,

If I’m sharing the blame for converting you, then I’m in good company.

Those books from England are really cheap (until the conversion and shipping). Did you get the book by Roger Fogg? Wait till you start to look for the older books, both for content and historical information. Then the price really goes up.

Swap is shaping up nicely. Very nice variety of flies and good tiers all around.

REE

syl nemeses book is an absolutly amazing book for soft hackles. i absolutly love it. you might want to add it to your libuary.

this one brings me back into the fray.

I’d like to join in with a yellow soft hackle. It works great for the streams and rivers.

Diane

Yep! your a big part of the blame, I did order that book of Fogg’s but it looks like I have to wait a couple of months till it’s arrival. I really like Hughes book & love the way Sylvester Nemes writes. I received two of his so far, I’ve got two more of his coming  Mostly interested in tying books but I got to tell ya the book “The Soft-Hackled Fly, a trout fisherman’s guide” by Nemes is really a fun read.

DianeID & mr, blur welcome to the swap
