West Branch Delaware, conditions ?

I was wondering if anybody was local to the West branch of the Delaware river. I am looking to go up for a day early next week and was wondering if you thought it would be fishable after this rain and run-off or if it will be muddy and not worth the trip? Thanks for any help.

I’m not close enough to eyeball it myself, but here’s a link to the Delaware River Club ( al Caucci’s place) near Hancock, with fishing conditions at different flow rates. Other links on the page will give you links to flow and temperature information for the W and E branches and the main stem. (As of today it’s running around 425 cfs at Hale Eddy.)

Other pages on the site give hatch info too which you may find useful. You may also want to give them a call, they will have a much better idea of water clarity, scheduled releases from Cannonsville, insect activity and other stuff if you don’t get any local responses from this board.

Good luck!

I drive over Delaware every day during my commute. It’s further down south though.
If it’s any help: Delaware is about 4 feet higher today than it was yesterday. That’s at Kittatiny Point. With all the snow melting I would guess that the west branch is in similar shape.

Thanks guys.

Drove over thr river today on the way to work and it looks like it’s back down to normal. If you call ice on the water normal that is.

Again this is at Kittatiny Point.

Thanks.
