Just finished this little 7’4# Lamiglas for Cary. Mine’s next!
Orange banded agate stripping guide, scarlet thread (NO color preserver!)
Cigar grip, down locking reel seat with myrtle wood insert.
Thank you to lastchance for putting me on to the Threadmaster finish! Sure do like the way it keeps the thread color true, while maintaining the translucency!
Very classy! Love the “old School” look of that! First rod I ever built was a fenwick fiberglass flyrod. Had the same colors as that, without that nice agate stripper. Plus back then we used rod varnish for the wraps. It was not near that pretty.
That is old school for sure, just screams Classic. Very nice job Betty everything from the agate to the thread color to the cigar grip & downlocker are all just spot on for a classic looking Lami. Very good choices!
No George. MINE will have the reel seat and agate from Washington State. This one actually has a reel seat from Mudhole, and the agate from there too, come to think of it! That agate for Cary’s rod and the one for mine are really beautifully made. I was sorta surprised at the quality, considering where they came from. To clarify … I’ve received very good quality components from them, and some really cra**y stuff too. With what they charge, and the amount they charge for shipping, you’d think the quality would be better all the time. Usually I’ll order from them, to fill out an order, when there’s something like the agates I need. Normally my entire order will come form H&H.
Thanks Betty, well the stripper and seat look so dang good i thought right away they came from WA. Will have to find those at mudhole to check things out. The agate in particular had me fooled. Good looking piece.
