If you haven’t checked the Sponsor Page in the last couple of days, we have a new Sponsor - Stone River Outfitters. (The new name for Hunter’s Angling Supplies.)
They were one of the late Al Campbell’s favorite places for fly tying supplies.
Call or email them for their catalog - you won’t be sorry. (It’s free too.)
I got their catalog about 3 weeks ago, and I have to say that the full color fly pages are some of the nicest I’ve ever seen. Not only are their prices good, but the catalog is great for tying ideas.
right click on the Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection icon…which ever you are using…lower right hand corner taskbar…then click on repair…see if it works…

I stopped at the Store today!!!
The PPL at Stone River Outfitters are the TOPS!! Any one who walks in is greeted with a smile and a BIG HELLO.
You can even call your order in and then pick it up at a later date. That?s so cool!
I know ware my next paycheck is going!
TO S.R.O. Keep up the Good work!!
Back when they were Hunter’s I frequently ordered from them and got outstanding service. I’ve placed several orders with them since they changed over to Stone River Outfitters and the service has remained exactly the same - excellent. Actually it’s probably even a little better now since they’re carrying some products that Hunter’s didn’t. I placed my most recent order with them online on a Tuesday and my stuff was sitting on my porch on Friday afternoon (they are in New Hampshire / I live in Pennsylvania). So I would heartily reccommend them to anyone. Not only is their service excellent, but you can actually call them on the phone and the person who answers knows the difference between a 3906B and a 9672. Oh yeah, and their products are second to none. I have a peice of what they call “Elk Hock” that is so fine I was able to tie size #24 Elk Hair Caddis out of it. Great people and great products (and their catalog is the finest bathroom literature I’ve seen).

“If we carry purism to it’s logical conclusion, to do it right you’d have to live naked in a cave, hit your trout on the head with rocks, and eat them raw. But, so as not to violate another essential element of the fly-fishing tradition, the rocks would have to be quarried in England and cost $300 each.”

I stopped in and talked with the guys from Stone River Outfitters at the Mid West Fly Fishing Expo. Great group of people and great prices. Even though they were extremely busy, they still took the time to answer all of my questions. I ended up buying several things from them. One was a new Wasatch bobbin (another great sponser with amazing products) My daughter ended up confiscating the hat they gave me.
