No storm, but it’s cold…

It’s so cold that my dog pissed an icicle this morning.

cant wait to snowblow up to 18 inches of snow

There’s a reason I have a 4 ft. wide PTO driven snowblower on the front of a 27 HP John Deere…

I can clear 18” of snow off of 4,500 sq. ft. of driveway in about 25 minutes.

The one good thing about these very low temperatures is that the snow tends to be dry and lightweight. It’s much easier to move than the same amount of wet, heavy snow at forty degrees.

That does help.

I switched from a belt drive snowblower on my old JD to this PTO shaft driven one in the winter of 2019/2020. It doesn’t seem to care what the snow is like.

If I hit a frozen chicken with it, it’d just launch it into the neighbors yard.

I’ll be staying in my nest for a couple days.

Our snowmageddon, lovingly named “Fern” by the weather bureau, came and went after all the hype, leaving us with 3 “ of soft, fluffy snow.

That’s how I see it.

I’m in the NE burbs of Atlanta, it’s cold but so far no damage in my immediate area. We overstocked the frig and pantry a little bit and will be making some delicious chili shortly. I was just watching the news showing crew clearing roads and power line where trees and limbs had fallen. Out where I live only main power lines are above ground, almost all of the subdivisions have underground electrical service, I also have natural gas for heat and cooking.

As a native Mississippian it concerns me considerable there are over 120,000 outages in the state. Being sparsely populated almost all electrical service is above ground, lots of folks who live in rural settings.
