Watercraft Riggings

Warren ,I’m surprised at you…[G]…the bag type anchors can be found surrounding various foods and assorted other things…just save them… thread a cord around the opening and attach to the anchor rope.

Incidentally a product called “Rope Ratchet” works well as an anchor rope and conveniently holds the rope.

ducksterman,

Cut me some slack – at least I knew that onions and potatoes came in them!

How’ fishing?

Hey Warren…it has been great…[G]

Hey All,
Was wondering if anyone knows anything about the type of Fish Finders that are cast on rods?. They are made by Hummingbird I belive it is the Humminbird? RF30 Wireless Sonar. The way they work is you cast out the remote Sonar device and it relays info to a device that is similar to a watch for read out. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this type of electronics? I also wanted to know if the Sonar device has to be cast or can it be placed in the water and trail the boat? I am completely new to the idea of Electronics for small boats and wondered if this a good product to use instead of a mounted electronic.

Never heard of or seen such an electronic product…But these days I suppose anything is possible!!..

I had tried the Buddy fish finder that is a portable and can be mounted to a dock or small watercraft…Seemed to me the screen never changed much no matter when or where I used the thing…sold it with the boat I had at the time…I miss it NOT!!..Only time I ever tried electronics for fishing and prolly the last…Not for me…even though that setup sounds interesting…

I stick with tried and true reading the water…I’m not very electronic savvy

Hey Billknepp,
Thanks for the feed back. I like to read the water too for the most part, but here in Texas during the day Temps. can get pretty high (100’s) so I wanted a way to track fish in deep water. I have never used electronics of any kind, but a lot of my friends swear by them. The display that didn’t change sounds like something that would happen to me. The more I spend on a piece of equipment and hope it will work the less it does. Anyway thanks of the advice. Does anyone else have any feedback?
