Water release schedule.....Little Red river?

Anyone have a website or phone number for the water release schedule for the Little Red River in Arkansas?

Thanks in advance.

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ar/nwis/rt is the best place I can think of. See if you can find it, or a location near you and click on the dot.

The waterflow rate doesn’t mean anything to me unfortunately but thanks.
Still need a water realease schedule. Anyone?

The generation schedule for the Ozark tailwaters is at the SWPA website. It is NOT reliable! Here is a chart that tells how much water is being released. The cfs, or cubic feet per second will let you know if there are wadeable conditions.

Here is a link to the core of engineer site but I dont think they have a schedule they just release water when they need energy

Our local dams(TVA) will give you an advanced schedule(like one day) and they stick to it somewhat. But you can call a number while you are fishing to see if things have changed. That is worth it’s weight in gold in piece of mind when you are out of ear-shot of the horn.
Also they have a website that gives the same info ( http://lakeinfo.tva.gov/htbin/lakeinfo? … =View+info )

You can sometimes guess based on weather. Warm and dry spells generally dictate a low demand for power and thus minimal releases.

Problem is I’m like 4-5 hours away and don’t want to drive all that way to have them generate all day long.
I can deal with a few hours as I can move from location to location but mainly I don’t want to make that drive, only to turn around to drive back.

Where is the Little Red River?

Here is a number for projected generation by SWPA:

866-494-1993

Remember that this is only projected…and should not be relied upon. They can and will generate whenever there is the need.

I understand. Just want something to go by.

THANKS!

Called that number and every place I could think of to pick had NO INFO for the dam release information. Not much good.

I like this site becasue it is quick and easy to tell what’s going on on the White, Norfork, Little Red and various other Arkansas rivers.

below is a projected schedule too: click on the day of interest and look under GRF or GFD usually beside NFD for norfork dam.

hope this helps

Thank You!! Exactly what I wanted.

It was working when I posted it. I also noticed that they didn’t have projected info when I called them last.

Right now, Bull Shoals, Norfork, and Greer’s Ferry are all above their top power pool. So I wouldn’t expect to see a big decrease in generation levels until the lake levels have dropped.
