Warmwater flybox filler swap

This swap is intended to produce a set a flies that will take care of a flyfisherman in most warm water settings. Please sign up for a pattern that will correspond with any available species listed. That way we won’t have all bluegill, or all bass flies. Find an open spot, and post that you want it. You will also see that there are 3 open spots. If you want to submit a fly for another species, or the one you want is filled, the extra 3 are up for grabs.

I’ll sign up for the first spot. I want panfish and am tying crappie candy.

Standard rules apply. Signups are open until 4/15 or until the swap fills. Flies will be due to me no later than 5/01. Don’t sign up if you can’t meet the deadline. Send your 12 toetagged flies to me in a crushproof package along with return packaging and postage (no metered mail, please). As with most warm water swaps, and altoids tin probably won’t work for this one, but you can try if you like. Please include your FAOL user name and pattern name on the toetag at a minimum. And please either include a recipe on the tag or post it here on the swap thread.

ol’ blue I would like to sign up for one of the bass spots. I am thinking on what fly to tie, it is between a clouser, chili pepper, or a chili demon. I had talked to Tony Spezio at the sowbug this year, and he tied the chili demon for me. Tony had said that the chili demon was his smallmouth fly of choice.
Thanks.
ldice

You are in. Let me know when you decide a pattern, and I’ll update the list.

blue

i;m in with a James Wood Bucktail but not sure where it should fit in your list. its represents a bluegill and both bass and bluegill will go for it

norm

Howdy ol’blue,
Thanks for the invitation Kind Sir.
I’ll lash up a Minnow pattern called the “Surprize attack”.
Looks like a Ghost minnow.
Thanks for havin me

How about a panfish fly from me? Bluegill Professer… a bright little soft hackle that they can’t refuse.

Zac

You are all in. Thanks for the interest.

I’ve sent everyone a PM with shipping info.

I would like a Panfish spot. Will tye a Squirrelly Cuss.

I’ll take a pike spot. Will be tying an ice wing minnow in 2/0 so send a decent sized box this fly is about 6" long.

Steve

ol’blue I will tie the Chili Demon.

My flies ae tied:

size ten streamer hook with chain bead eyes two eye lengths back on top of shank
tail is marabou tied shorter and less full than for a wooly bugger
body is orange craft hair tied like the bucktail on a deciever
wing is bucktail tied very sparse
head is salmon colored Rumph estaz

I think everything is updated up to this point. PMs sent for shipping info.

Had fun with your last swap! (My first) I’d like to tie a carp fly called a THISTLE SEED. My I join in the fun again??

You are in. 2 spots left.

ol’ blue,
I’ll take a Pike spot. Pattern TBA tonight, but something in the 6" range for sure.

Looks like a fun swap. Great idea for the mixed species limits.

You are in.

I think that this one will be a good one, too. I like the swaps that are practical. Although I’ve done my share of the other kind.

I will tie something for chain pickeral.

And we are full. Last PMs going out with shipping info.

I just changed my Pike pattern to the most awesome movment I have ever sen in a clouser. It will still be in the 6"+ range but will be much more awesome. Oh yeah my carp pattern will be a headstand.

Steve

So much for trying to decide what to tie…last I checked there were 2 people signed up, and now its FULL! :o)
Looks like some great patterns being tied up! I can’t wait to see the pics!
