Wanted - Small Hen Duck Feathers

I know that I could post this in the trade or wanted section of the BB but I think I will get more readers here.

I am looking for some small breast feathers from a female duck. Those from a teal would be ideal or perhaps some from those closer to the neck on a spoonie or pintail. Don’t need a whole bunch just maybe 20 or 30 to use as an experiment for a soft hackle.

Will be willing to send you some flank feathers off a drake mallard, pintail, Canvasback or some tail feathers off a honk.

PS - Dummie (me) threw away a bunch of hen teal feathers early in the season and then didn’t get a chance to go again.

Dangit Tim, season ended here a week ago or I’d go get ya some. Will dyed mallard breast not work?

Man, Why didn’t you post this during hunting season? Too late for this season, only 8 more months.

Didn’t run into this need until yesterday. Didn’t think I would get any hits but I figured it didn’t hurt to try. I have some hen mallard, but even dyed they wont work.

Pan, wait until early duck season next fall, will get some for you!

Keep the faith, someone is bound to have a plucked teal somewhere.

DG & All. Thanks. This is not a major problem. It can easily wait until next year. I went out the opening weekend of duck this year & got some birds but didn’t save the hen teal. Two days after the opener my wife was rushed to the ER and dang near passed. She is recovering now but that ended my hunting for this year. Hopefully I might get to sneak out a few days next month for the late speck/snow season.
