Wanted: Nor-Vise, previous model

I’m trying to find the Nor-Vise model previous to the current. I am looking for the model with the tension screw on the top of the main vise post, but without the “new” feature/screw on the bottom of the main vise post to allow for rotation.

This is the current/one I have(notice the screw about an inch from the bottom of the post):

This is the model I’m looking for(it has the tension screw at the top but no screw on the bottom):

I’ve already checked with Norm and he doesn’t have any. Does anybody know of a place that might have “old” Nor-vise stock? Or have/know of one that might be sold?

Thanks,
Robert

You might want to check here. David has a Nor-Vise but does not say what model. You can email him and tell him which one you are looking for and he’ll let you know if that is the one he has. I have bought a couple of reels and other items from him and he is easy to work with. http://www.tradenstuff.com/GearList.htm

Thanks for the tip Dave,

I had purchased from him in the past and it was one of the places I had already looked. The model he has is an older one, it doesn’t have the rotation screw on the bottom of the post, but it doesn’t have the tension screw either.

This shop had a couple a year or so ago. http://www.mtnriverflyshop.com/ . . . Don’t know which model but you might try.

Thanks, I’ll give them a call tomorrow.

whats the difference between each of the versions…?

As I posted in my initial post. The current model has a new feature; there is a screw on the main post about 1" up from the base, it’s intention is to allow the vise to be turned to face the tier for things like woven body nymphs. I do not use that feature so for me I’d like to find the previous model before this was added.

thanks for the info. i was not aware of the modification…

i just got a norvise in trade… and its the newer version… too bad norm did not put an index feature on it allowing it only to go so far and putting it back into square when you were done… otherwise if you tighten it up it does not move…

I found the model I was looking for.

Thanks to everybody for all the tips/suggestions.

Have you found what you are looking for yet? I have one that I could part with. PM me.
