Want to try some split case nymphs? I’ve been tying them in 16’s and 18’s with and without bead heads. If you’ll reply here “I’d like a couple” then I’ll send them to you. If you would prefer weighted or non-weighted let me know. I’ll send the first 6 people who respond a couple of these nymphs. They have been working well in my neck of the woods and I guess I’m curious if they’ll work elsewhere. You can pm me your address and I will get them out in a couple of days.
Like Gandolf, I don’t necessarily need flies (I can tie my own and you could send samples along to someone who can’t), but it sounds interesting. Would be very interested in a pic and recipe.
Also, very generous offer. Good for you for paying it forward.
Gandolf and Cold, I wish I oculd post pics but I can’t. If you Googled the fly you could probably find it. It’s been working well in a tailrace I fish. Cold, like you I love to tie, and this is just another way to spread some FF joy.
FishnDave and Herefishy, please send me your address.
If anyone wants a couple let me know; 5 people have responded, there’s room for one more.
Albasurf, you got it. If you’d like to post a pic that’s fine with me.
Cold, that’s the fly. Instead of using embroidery floss I’ve used either twitch or wapsi stretch tubing.
I forgot to mention … these flies are not the best tied, prettiest flies you’ll see. I’m sure you can improve on them. But they work.
Thanks for participating everyone.
Got mine, Greg, thanks. Will try them tomorrow. I bought a fly in Montana last year that had a little streak painted on the wingcase, and it really worked.
