Wader repare "tape"

Hi there.
I’ve fixed my old and new waders with Aquaseal but it’s a bit expensive and I use a lot of it.

Is it possible to buy somewhere the “tape” the manufacturers use on the seams (on breathable waders, goritex) to make them waterproof?
It would be easier to put the tape on the seams instead of Aquaseal.

Or do you know of something similar I could use instead of the tape or a cheaper silicon than the Aquaseal?

Regards,
Thorarinn

I am unaware of a suitable tape for the seams, but in the US there is a product called “Marine Goop” which should serve as a reasonable replacement for Aquaseal (US$7/3.7oz tube vs. same for .75oz of Aquaseal). It is found in most hardware stores so perhaps your local equivalent has something similiar.

I believe wader seams are heat sealed. I doubt you could do it without ruining the waders even if you had the tape.

Thank you for the answers.
I can’t find anyone selling Marine Goop over here, but will keep my eyes open for it.

Thanks again.

All the Goops are pretty much the same formula.
‘Amazing’ and ‘Craft’ are thinner, while ‘Wood and Furniture’ is thicker.
‘Automotive’, Household’ and ‘Plumbing’ are all the same thing.
‘Marine’, ‘Sport & Outdoor’, ‘RV’,and 'Lawn & Garden are also the same formula but UV-resistant.
‘Shoe-Goo’ is also the same stuff but even more flexable than the others

I use what ever is handy
