Waaaaayyyyy off topic ..... Needing my "Family" at FAOL

Just returned from a real wake up. Our beautiful little granddaughter … whom you so kindly allow me to post about … has been found to be almost blind. We don’t know how much she can see with those beautiful huge blue eyes … but it doesn’t appear to be much. We spent the morning at the Grandparents Day at the Childrens Center for the Visually Impaired in Kansas City, Missouri. While smiles were on my face, they were closely hiding tears. What this little girl has been through so far, far surpasses my ability to take in. Seeing the braille writers, and the canes … oh my gawd … it rips your heart out. She’ll be a student there (CCVI) from now till she’s at least three, and then be integrated into the school. The Center is a beautiful, bright, happy place … the kids seem to not be any aware of their shortcomings … just like every little kid, happy and playful. The playground had walkers and canes parked all over the place, while the kids were busy being kids. (They have little ones with so many more problems than blindness! and serve all their needs).
It sure does take the wind out of your sails when you try to put what you see in to the perspective of what you’ve hoped and dreamed for your children and grandchild.
Thank for hearing me out. I’m so blessed to have you all as family.

Betty,

Prayers will go up for His healing hands to give back the gift of sight to one of His children…

My heart goes out to your grand daughter and family

Your story brought tears to my eyes. Let us hope for the best.

Tim

My prayers to you and your grandchild for healing and comfort.

What a tragedy after her difficult start - prayers go out for her and her family.

Betty, Prayers going out to you and your beautiful granddaughter. Jim

Betty, I believe that Tristyn will have a wonderful life despite this difficulty. She has already proven to have a strong spirit in overcoming so much. With that and support from a loving family she will succeed in life. Before you pray for her and go to bed tonight eat a piece of fine chocolate and listen to some good music. Remember that she will still have these and so many other joys in her life.

Hugs, Jim

Betty,
Certainly a test of faith for your family. Hopefully you all will understand and accept . Meanwhile, our prayers for the best outcome.

Betty,
Certainly a test of faith for your family. Who knows what’s in His plan?. Hopefully you all will understand and accept. Meanwhile, our prayers for the best possible outcome for the little angel.

Betty, my heart hurts reading this. All I can hope is it is some kind of test, that she will ace I am sure.
Hugs from my family and Me

Betty,

Words fail at times like this, however I agree with Marco that we do not know what God’s reason is for allowing such trials to come into our lives. We will keep you all in our prayers.

Betty,
Sometimes we have to grieve the loss of those hopes and expectations before the new ones can gain purchase and begin to sprout. by grieving we are not giving up hope but rather allowing the new realities to take hold. the spirit will not be diminished but rather the new challenges will be able to be met head on with strength and vitality.I wish you and your family the best ,great hope and great strength.
Steve

Betty,

Faith will see this beautiful child through her next challenge. Our prayers will guide you and all your family and sustain you now and in the future. And hope will always be the strength that helps you cope with the next stage of God’s plan.

Betty,
I’m heartbroken to read your post. I’ll pray for her and her extended family. Know that many people here know you and love you and wish you and your family well.

Regards,
Ed

Thank you, each and all. You have always given me hope, and strengths, and prayers to keep muddling through. She’s such a beautiful little girl. OK … and a messy eater!
Just must keep the Faith and allow God’s plan to be shown.

Betty, as Traci just said, be prepared to be surprised at what she will be able to do as she grows. All our prayers are with her and her family, and may God surprise us all with what he has planned for her.

Betty,

I have tried several times to write something, but words fail me. In my heart I know things will work out for the best.

Betty, prayers for you and your family.
