A young couple, who are friends of mine, are trying to establish themselves in the flyfishing industry. They are representatives of Vosseler reels and vices. They came to a local fly shop this past weekend and demonstrated their considerable flytying skills. I got an up-close look at the Vosseler vice, and also tried the reels. Impressive! Quality and price would be very hard to beat. The vice holds large hooks from four directions instead of two, and they stay put. Reels look nice. Vise is strange looking. Must be you put hook in slide out slot and lever it back into what would be the jaws on a regular vise. The two headed vise , one facing op directions… does it swivel around so you can work on 2 flies at a time or do you have to be amberdextrous? Interesting though. No price range was given. Why not suggest they advertise on FAOL since you are friends with them.
It does look different doesn’t it. The hook fits in a hole in what would be jaws on a regualr vise, then the knob is turned, drawing the hook rearward, and holding it extremely well from four directions. On smaller hooks, the optional regular jaws are recommended, since it’s very easy to put too much pressure on the wire, and snap it right off. With two heads, you can tie on either or both, by simply swiveling one head to where the other was, giving you the option of using different jaws, or allowing flies to dry while tying another, speeding up production. It adjusts every way you can think of. I’d suggest you look on the website given above, cause I’m sure no expert at all it can do. Prices are given in Pounds, but you can multiply by $1.78 and get pretty close. It’s compact, light, has a suction base that would lift the table off the floor, it’s rotaty, comes in black or silver. Quality stuff. The website can tell you more than I can. The reels are great. I’ve got two of them coming as we speak. Now I’ve got to figure a way to tell my wife how the old Regal vise just gave up, or broke.
These folks are just getting started, and I’ll suggest that they advertise here if they can.
I’ve actually seen the vice in a store in Melbourne, really nice stuff, but I can’t remember the price. It was upper end though. The reels looked nice too on the website.

I got my reels. It only took two days. Can’t wait to load 'em up and hit the water. They are by far better reels than I’m used to. Now I need to go buy new rods. Putting these on the ones I’ve got would be like saddling a hundred dollar horse with a thousand dollar saddle.
