Great article Ohio. I saw a few ads for it, but none, from what I could find, indicated where it would be held. I don’t know if any of the organizers of the event are members of FAOL, but perhaps they could make sure that the ads indicate where the festival will be held (even if its just “Harrisonburg area, exact location TBD” or something to that extent).
Paul,
Sorry I didn’t mention location in my article (or did I?). It is held on the banks of the South River in Waynesboro, VA & is an absolutely delightful show! Folks there are really friendly & helpful. Here’s hoping you can join us next spring. It is a trip well worth making!
Mike
No it was not your story. You mentioned Harrisonburg area. I am talking about the ads I saw in magazines like the Chesapeake Angler and even my local newspaper carried one (The Freelance-Star), but in none of those ads was the location mentioned. I might not have made it anyway, but it would have been nice to have some idea of where in VA it was being held before it was held. That’s all. Not your fault as you were an invited guest, just trying to get the attention of those organizing it to let them know that some of us who may have been interested may have been turned off by not providing even a general location.
I wish they would advertise more, although I thought they had as the booklet/magazine is nicely done. Perhaps you can put some pressure on Virginia TU, FFF, & others to get the word out better & in sufficient time. Tim (Grubb) did tell me that he read in the paper or heard on the news that guests from as far away as Ohio were there…HEY, that’s ME!!
That show AND the local fishing are well worth the trip. As stated before, I will be back, & back, & back…
Mike
