I have been considering getting one of the Sharkskin lines. Every review I have read talks about the sound the line makes as it is going through the guides. For some it does not bother them, but for others the sound seems to be enough to keep them from using the line. I ran across the following video and you can clearly hear the sound this line makes. I thought it might be of interest to someone interested in the line, but is concerned about the sound the line makes. You can decide for yourself. For me, I’m on the fence about it.
Shane, I have a good friend that has 3 years on his without cleaning. floats as new and this guy fishes about 125 logged days on the water. BUT the line is “all that”… I feel the noise is not for me, every other aspect of would fall into my Great Stuff catagory. I carry a TMF, to me it would almost be moraly wrong to put one of those lines on. Almost like putting it on some real good boo.To each his own
I started using it last year and love it. BUT - it does make a sound and you really do have to use stripping guards. It will cut a groove in a finger after a day of stripping - trust me. Add in the high cost and that makes 3 strikes. But it casts like a dream and added distance for me. I have been seduced by the Sharkside.
