Very slooooooooooooooooooow opening in SE PA.

Went out on to Minsi Lake (Northampton co.) over the weekend and must say that this was the slowest fishing in any opening day that I can remember.
Banks were lined with anglers of all ages and no action.
During 3 hours fishing on Sunday I managed one rainbow (nice size) and one gill.
I have also witnessed two more fish landed. That would make 3 fish per 150 or so anglers.
I hope that things are going bettter in other places.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who was skunked on Sunday. I fished the Quitty. How Ironic a week ago I hooked 2 barracuda and lost 2 in Key West with 10-15 mph winds, and can’t even catch a trout on opening weekend!

We fished the lil lehigh. Wasn’t as busy as i thought it would be. we were, and others were catching a lot. My sister got a 22 in. palomino (kept), my cousin a 23 in. palomino (released), and in the afternoon my cousin’s wife got a huge 26 in. 10 pound palomino (getting mounted). Saw some huge rainbows well over 20 in. being lost. we released all other fish. i got 4, my sis 2, my cousin and his dad had to be up to around 20 each. Overall we did good, though i think they ripped us off with the 30% bigger fish. the average i saw was 10 or less inches.
I’m curious to see how the rest of the state is gonna be.

I was out Sunday at a couple of different places and was skunked. Most other anglers I spoke with on Sunday were skunked. A couple of buddies caught 3 trout between them on Saturday on the Yellow Breeches. Went out last evening on the Breeches and had one break off on me. Beyond that and a couple of nibbles between the three of us, no action. Saw 5 dead trout floating in the water, though… didn’t make me a very happy guy.

I’m another PA guy that got skunked. I had gone out on march 25 (the first and only time so far this year) to a wild trout stream and fished for about 1.5 hours…not even a nibble. Of the dozen or so times I fished this stream, I only got shunked 1 other time and that was late in the season and the water was VERY low.

I’m sure things will begin to improve soon. By the way, the water temp was 50 degrees.

Anybody know how the Lil Schook in New Ringgold PA is fishin?
