Anyone know how much the product costs? I emailed and got lots of info. but don’t know how much to pay.

According to their website a 1/2 oz. container is $6.95 and a 1/4 oz. container is $5.95.
For those folks buying the Yosemite stuff. Follow the directions. They say to use an amount about the size of a match head. Somewhere between a paper match head and a wooden match head in size worked for me for three days.
And yes, my order is in.

My order is in - Thanks for the heads up!..Ed
Maybe I’ll rub some on my feet when my wife brings out the good sheets.
OK, as of right now Yosemite Fly Tyer Finger Treatment wins the Bamboozle Customer Service Award for communication and service the way it SHOULD be; and trust me, I’m tough to please.
I ordered some product off the website yesterday and I received an e-mail thanking me, telling me when it was shipped, (yesterday) including the TIME, and some instructions and recommendations for use.
I’ll probably see the product in a few days and based on my experience so far, this company is a winner.
I can’t wait to try this stuff!
My order for 1/2 oz. was $6.95 and shipping was $2.95 for a total of $9.90 and I have already received confirmation that they received payment and shipped yesterday.

Yikes! I placed an order last night and have already received two emails from Yosemite - one to confirm the order and the other was a shipment notification for TODAY (Saturday)! These folks look pretty serious. Funny thing - when I read down the list of sponsors of FAOL, all the ones I’ve dealt with have been top notch. Hmmmmm…
Received my order from Yosemite. After the first application I have 3 recommendations:
- Buy the larger size - it’s a bargain.
- Buy a container for everyone in the house, or yours won’t be on your bench for long.
- Follow the application directions on the website. A tiny bit goes a LONG way. This stuff is AMAZING!
thanks HA. The stuff is different from anything else. Somehow, it’s not just a ‘better’ cream or such. It is in a class by itself. And really, really works.
I got my FTFT the other day and I love the stuff! I haven’t given it the floss test yet but it passed the thread test just fine.
AND if the customer service I received from them wasn’t good enough, they sent me a free small sized container due to a minor, and I mean MINOR, shipping issue. Man are these guys on the right track service wise!
Make sure to buy the bigger size like Heritage Angler recommends, it’s well worth the extra $1.00. Or do like I did and get a couple of each size and put a big one on the bench and a small one in the travel kit.
DShock,
My can of Bag Balm adveriises that it is “Vermont’s Original” and comes from Dairy Association Co., Inc.
Lyndonville, VT. It has been around since 1899, and as others have stated, it is lanolin based (8-hydroxy quinoline sulfate 0.3% in a petrolatum lanolin base).
OK, you folks talked me into it. I placed an order yesterday for the FTFT. Hey if they’re good enough to be a sponsor on FAOL that’s good enough for me.
Got rough hands, and when tying you end-up with more of the fly tying material attached to your fingers than attach to the fly? May I suggest a Manicure!
Before I start dressing hooks, I have a spong sanding pad, that I use to smooth my finger tips.
I soak my finger in some warm soapy water, and clip and file my nails so there is nothing to catch a thread or dubbing.
Then before tying, I apply some Oil of Olay to my hands. Oil of Olay has Turtle Oil, which masks any human scent from the material, as I dress the hook.
I learned about the Oil of Olay trick from a Marv Taylor article in the “Fishing Stillwater” series on FAOL.
Got my FTFT the other day and tried it out. What great stuff! I was tying soft hackles with floss and nary a snag. I’m another happy camper.
:x :x :x :x :x :x Thanks JC and FAOL. I ordered and received my FTFT in 3 days with two confirming emails. It ia truly unique and really smooths those rough fingers. I do a few other things besides tying flies and I don’t have time for all the manicuring and fussing. This stuffeliminates the need  It is great!
Thanks Paddy. I had a real problem at first. I knew it worked. I wanted all of you to know about it. It is cheap and I still can’t see how they can make any profit by advertising on here. But, I wanted them anyway.
I am glad so many have ordered it, they say the orders are pouring in. Great! Going to be a lot of happy tiers out there.
Bag Balm is available(at least around here) at farm supply stores-Fleet Farm, Farm & Fleet, Tractor Supply etc. Also some Vets carry it.
Who woulda thought… I have the same problem as well. I use a dremel tool to get rid of the rough spots… just kidding. I just work around it. Sometimes it is worse than others, but, after a while, I have just adapted. I do use some kind of first aid lotion for dry skin and that helps sometimes.
