I’m thinking of making up some of the Velcro Crabs that are on this site. I seem to not be able to link to it but it’s in the Archives page. Would the color configuration pictured work on Eluthera. Looks like it would but just asking the more knowledgable. Thanks, Dave

Generally you want to match the color of the bottom. The crabs that I observe in Eleuthera, on sand bottoms, were off white to sand colored about the size of quarter. Claws were red-yellow-slight light blue tinged in pastel shades. This was on sand, over turtle grass you would go to darker colors.

As far as the color of the crabs in Eluthra I can’t help you. I can tell you that the color of the crabs can and will vary by season as there are often color variations during a season with a given species. You will also find that certain crabs are more common than others at certain times.

So, here’s what I do. Tie up some crabs and simply bring a few Pantone markers with you. The markers take up no space and you can then customize them for the conditions. You would be amazed at just how picky those fish can be at times. With the markers you can make them just right

Picked it up today, and will fire up the vise, 8.50 a yd at JoAnn Fabrics 2" width.

Here’s a pretty neat alternative - you can substitute velcro for the body material. I really like the caulk belly; easy to work with and cheap.
