Variegated H&L Variant Convertible SBS

Playing around with an old standard. Original H&L had white calftail or calf body tail, but with the dual white wing I thought I’d tone it down with the moose body (really like the salt/pepper effect from this piece of Bullwinkle). H&L’s usually just have brown hackle, but I’m on a brown/grizzly kick so there you go.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - MFC 8/0 brown
tail - moose body
overbody - 2mm foam brown
rear abdomen - peacock quill stripped
front abdomen - peacock herl
wing - calftail (Convertible style)
legs - rubber medium brown
hackle - grizzly/brown
