I went fishing yesterday with my new one weight. JC, I want you to know how much you increased the pressure on me to catch a fish on that first outing. I was in fear that I would not catch anything, and would have to junk the rod. Things worked out for me though, I caught several bass, and a mess of nice blue gill. I’ll keep the rod!
now how fun is fishing the 1 wt.? I just returned from four hours of tossing soft hackles at bluegill. What a blast!
I’ll also attest to the great fun of harrassin’ warmwater species w/ 1wt rod. there are some bigass 'gills in the ponds this spring. I’m having a blast.

The one weight is a total kick. The thing that surprised me the most was how well it held up to the 15 - 20 mph winds here yesterday!
