I have a used saddle hackle. The good hackles were furnace. I have used all of the ones that I want and am left with feathers that are basically a real dark gray or even black. Some have a brown vein down their center. I was going to throw it away, but decided that maybe somebody would want it for bass flies or the marabou type feathers.
