Does anyone else get these horrible inexhaustive e-mails seeking urgent partners to serve as an agent. I’ve been spamming these things for at least two years and they just keep coming. How does one ever get off their stupid lists? I’ll await an answer. JGW
Hi JGW,
I find it easy. I simply move my cursor
over the delete button and click.G Beyond
that I don’t think there are many options.
I don’t believe the US Spam laws will do
much to alleviate spamming from 3rd world
countries. On a brighter note, the water
temperatures here in SC are keeping up with
the lunar movements and it appears that we
will have optimum conditions here next week
for some really great fishing.G I have
added your flies to my box and will give
them a good workout under prime conditions.
Warm regards, Jim
Let me know how they work out for you, Jim. Rarely do I hear reports back although I’m hoping someone catches something from my swap inputs. Those messages just drive me nuts, though. Once you’re on their list . . . JGW
Add 'em to your Block Senders list…
Jim,
You are absolutely right. A lot of mail comes from other countries, even US companies are using servers located in South America to send spam.
White,
A lot of these mailings are from bots that just send out random emails. Most of the time, there isn’t even a human on the other side of the keyboard. Deleting them is the best. Never ever answer. You also might want to set an Email account (one of the free ones, of course) to do ‘business’ replies when filling out surveys, etc. Set the spam controls on high. Use another email for family, friends, etc. That cuts down some spam.

Diane

Jeremy,
It used to work well that way…until they figured out how to spoof addresses. Spoofing and covering up the true origin in quite common and rather simple.
What a lot of folks do is block whole countries. Country codes can be found here: [url=http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm:6de18]http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm[/url:6de18]
It’s easy to block whole sections: *.cn, *.kp, *.kr, *.jp, *.ru, etc.
you mean to tell me i’m not getting that 27 million from the nigerian dictators widow??? man, i better return the zero g!!!
I just make rules to block certain words in subject lines or body of the e mail … such as partners or urgent … then theres viagra, free software , cheap ,sex.extr…
The more time I spend around people the more I like my dog.
