I will be in the Syracuse area in 2 weeks, if anyone could offer any advice on where to fish, or where to do some research (websites).
feel free to p.m. or email me. Any help is appreciated.

Mark:
Leave Fort Collins to go fishing near Syracuse. Works for me. Check your PM.

thanks David !
West Canada Creek isn’t too far from the 'cuse.
Hmm. Thought I had posted a response here, but it is not showing up. Short version. Google finger lakes fishing report and you’ll find lots of sites. The streams should have been stocked recently and there should be some good action on the tributaries to the finger lakes.
Salmon River, I guess.

Salmon River, I guess.
We’ve had such a dry spring that they’re dropping it to summer levels. Two weeks ago, they were running at 250-ish. Man, that’s pretty bad for spring. They’re might be some steelies still around, so it would be worth checking out. Pulaski is only a half hour north of Syracuse.
There are 3 primary streams…Butternut and Limestone are on the east side and 9 Mile on the west. There are some other smaller less fished streams and some of them go through the city… I suggest sticking with the 3 named. Call Wayne at the Troutfitter when you get here. He can point you in the right direction. Having a vehicle will be a big plus to get to these waters.
2 hours from Syracuse you’re in the Catskills - Delaware (and both branches), Beaverkill, Willowemoc. If you have the time and transportation.
