Update on warren patterson

God bless Warren and his family. He was a very kind man and a good example for all.

I’m deeply saddened by this. Warren & I had a local ohio connection & formed a solid friendship when he first came aboard FAOL. Jack Hise & I drove down to Tullahoma years ago to fish with Warren. That wonderful trip resulted in Jack’s moving from Michigan to Tennessee.
Warren was one of those guys EVERYONE liked. He will be missed.
RIP old Friend.

It would encourage you to watch the tribute video they put together remembering Warren.

I watched the video. What a wonderful tribute to a wonderfaul man.

Uncle Jesse, Thank you for sharing the link to the memorial video for Warren. He was a terrific guy, and although we never met in person, we communicated a number of times and he was a good friend I never met. I will keep his family in my prayers.

Thanks again and God Bless.

Very Sad, Rest in peace Warren.

Very nice video keepsake. I never met him, but feel like I know him from this and his posts over the years. I did not know he was retired military. God be with his family and loved ones. Rest in peace.

Just in case you did not know previously, before Warren started fly fishing he was a local tournament bass fisherman. He told me he got tired of all the cheating in bass tournaments, which I know can be pretty common when there is a cash prize.

I just got back from Warren’s funeral. It was a nice service, but it isn’t how I shall remember him. I can still see him, waist-deep in the Duck River, with a smile on his face. A couple of us are planning on going down to fish the stretch of the Duck where we fished with him the most often. It seems to be the right way to remember him.

Ed, you nailed it! Throw a woolly worm or klinkhamer out there on the Duck for me, will you please?

Mikey

I’ll have to tie some Because I don’t have any Klinks or Woolly Worms. I have plenty of Woolly Buggers, but no Worms.

We were planning on fishing the flies which we most associate with him. I’ll tell the river, “This cast is from Mike.” I’m sure Warren will get the message.

Ed

Ed, you’re right. Cast an olive woolly bugger for me instead! That was my hottest fly on the Duck.

Mikey

Mikeys fly needs some peanut butter fudge on it too!!!
Thank you.

Betty, I just made a batch of PB fudge last weekend for my eldest daughter’s 44th Birthday. OMG! My BABY is 34!!!

Mikey

I will keep him in my prayers.

Sorry to hear of Warren’s passing. Got to fish with him several years back at an FAOL Fish-In in Townsend, TN. Had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with and learning from Warren. Prayers going up for his family.

I haven’t checked in here in a while. Thanks for keeping us updated Wayne. Warren was a great teacher. He helped me out here and I had the chance to fish with him at one of the MIFI’s. So glad for the chance to meet him. I was a bit broken hearted when I visited him in Tullahoma. He was in a nursing home and thanks to the stroke didn’t know me. Had a great time fishing with two of his other"students" while I was there. Two more friends I would not have met if not for Warren. Thank you Sir, for the lessons, the encouragement and the friends.

Thank you Wayne. I just saw the notice of Warren’s passing. I will think of him whenever I’m in my NuCanoe as Warren was the one who guided me to it.
I never met him, but felt his presence.
God speed Warren.
Mike

I sold Warren a fly rod maybe 10-12 years ago. I don’t even remember which one. But I’ve always honored him as a stand-up guy and an honest man to deal with. RIP Warren.

Sorry to learn of Warren’s passing. May he rest in peace. To his family and friends I wish you peace.
