Hello, Douglas;
I’m Linda, Paul Wilmoth’s wife.(Or as YOU probably know him better, “flybinder” on your joint fly fishing forum!?!)
I’m writing, because Paul asked me to. He is currently, very, very, ill from an experimental treatment his doctors tried, to help fight his cancer.
The treatment was "risky"as best and sadly, it back fired on Paul, putting him in the hospital and on life support, until this past Tuesday.
He is at home, with me caring for him now, but not yet up to being on the computer. He gave me your email address, and asked me to write, because he said you were one of his closest friends on your fly fishing website and he didn’t want you to think “He’d just dropped out of sight, for no reason”.
He told me to use his, email address so you would recognize it and open this email.
He asked me, to ask you, if you would be so kind as to also tell “your group”?? As he told me, “Doug will know, who I mean”, so he told me the names of "Joe V. Ohio Tuber, Jack Hise and then he said, “Leave it to Doug, he knows who the gang is”. (So, I HOPE, Doug that you know who he’s talking about?).
Paul’s feeling better, now and is eating a little bit, but still pretty weak.
We’d hoped, that this treatment would have worked, but evidently not.
Prayers, it appears, will have to be our ongoing “treatment” for the next little bit. The time, we were given, a year to a year and a half, isn’t very much time so we’re relying on prayers to extend that time as long as God sees fit to extend it.
I hope, this email makes a LITTLE sense, Doug I’m pretty tired myself and not up to my usual “speed”!
I hope, you understand!? Paul told me, also, to tell to you, “To be good and take your walks and don’t pick on the guys to much!”, I’m sure, if you and Paul are anything alike, you’ll know what he means!?
Take care;
Linda Wilmoth
Doug,
Thanks for the update.
Paul,
We’re all pulling for you. Glad you made it home and I hope you’re through the worst. Get better soon. We’ll be waiting for you to return. I and my family will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Ironic that just an hour or two, Doug & I traded PMs wondering how Paul was doing as we had missed his posting recently. Knowing his health situation, we were both very concerned with his absence from FAOL.
Please, let’s all keep Paul, Linda & all their family in our prayers. FAOLers prayers have always been pretty special.
Paul, we’ll be talkin’ soon.
God Bless,
Mikey
Dear Paul,
Remember what I said about “Timing”? This is the time we are all going to pray for you! You are a special person and you are not alone anymore.
I can’t wait for you to get back on the BB!
Doug
DShock, Thank You for this and please let Mrs. Flybinder know that they, especially Paul, are on the prayer list here in Wyoming.
For some reason I turned on the computer before going to work today. Something I do not normally do and now I know why.
Paul and Linda,
All of our love and prayers are with you right now.
God bless,
Eric and Amy
God bless you both. Keep your hearts and your eyes on God. You are and will be in my prayers.
Wow Paul , sorry to hear of your troubles. Thank god you have Linda there to help. God bless her.
Doug please pass along this prayer I learned from Gemrod. Linda is right we can all help with our prayers.
Our heavenly father. I come to you tonight to pray for Paul and Linda. I humbly ask in prayer that you give them guidance in dealing with this health problem. Please help them to know the right things to do and say…and thereafter can know they have done their best and can then be at peace with themselves. Hopefully this is just a rough bump in their road of life, and that ten years from now, Paul will still be on this planet, doing something, somewhere…and it was all just an inconvienence. I wish you well Paul.
I ask in the name of Jesus Amen
Paul and Linda you will both be in my thoughts and Prayers.
Rocky
I have known of Paul’s cancer for some time ( he asked that it be kept confidential), and the “Berkley Hat” project was something we thought would be fun, and hopefully raise a few bucks to help offset the server upgrade on FAOL… Not to mention taking his mind off his cancer by making remarks about each picture posted by another member, and wondering where the hat was at all times. I know we are all praying for his recovery and would like to do something, so I would suggest that we expedite the “Berkely Hat” and see how many signatures and pictures we can get in the next few weeks, then we’ll setup some sort of online auction and see how much we can get for that tattered hat to turn over to FAOL. Then we’ll leave it up to the winning bidder if they want to keep the hat or donate it to the FAOL Museum.
Paul, hang in there and know that we are all praying for you. If it’s any consolation, I thought of you frequently as I cruised the Carribean last week, and kept seeing tacky, trashy caps and t-shirts that reminded me of the “Berkley Hat” for some crazy reason. I would just start to chuckle and my Linda would ask what was so funny, and I would just tell her " you wouldn’t understand." She’s a smart gal, and just ignored me from that point on.

It’s overcast here which usually perks me up…but not today.
Paul and Linda -
Best wishes from Southeastern Idaho.

The fish are pulling for you, and …
Flybinder,Paul,
Get well quick so you can continue to be the fast food critic here on FAOL. :). Do take care of yourself and rest assured prayers for you are on my agenda.
Mark
Doug, thanks for the update.
Paul and Linda…this is a big bunch of PRAYERS, AND not just from Oklahoma, but you have a great bunch praying for you.
God bless.
Flybinder Paul…So sorry to hear this news. Many thanks to your wife for keeping us in the loop. You’re on my prayer list, Bro. Hoping for your speedy return…

I knew Paul had not posted in a few days, but I was hoping it was because I missed a post that he was off fishing or something.
Paul,
You hang in there! I (we) are pulling for you. You and Linda are in my prayers.
Dear Paul and Linda,
I was not aware of Paul’s condition and I am doubly distressed to hear that Paul’s treatment went poorly. Please don’t give up on the power of prayer; it’s pulled many FAOLers and their families through some bad situations. You, Paul, and your family will be in my prayers here in South Carolina. 8T
Paul and Linda,
Even though we’ve never met, I feel as if I know you. You have been so kind to me in getting started down the hopeless addiction of fly tying. (actually becoming an enabler to me walking down that path).
I want to let you know you are in the Sluder family prayers. I believe God has a special place in His heart for fishermen (remember Peter).
Brother, get well soon.
Jeff
