U/V Light Deal

Found a U/V light (bout the size of a small laswer pointer) at Fry’s Electronics today. I am gonna try to use it with Loon u/v knot sense. I don’t know how powerful the lamp is, but at $4.99 (including a pen to mark personal posessions with), it is worth a try. Will post again when I get a chance to use it. this is lot cheaper than anywhere else I have looked.

now…if I can just find a cheap Cautery. The urologist woudn’t let me the keep the one he used on me on Thursday. I thought it was the least he could do after making my swimmers unable to reach upstream.

I bought a cheapie UV light for the same purpose - worked okay but not great; I usually ended up exposing whatever I had coated with Knot-Sense to sunlight to finish the job.

Regards,
Scott

FeatherCraft has reasonably priced cauterizers (29bucks), and you won’t need stirrups.

I use to use the Loon Knot-Sense until one morning before daylight I put it on a nail knot when tying on a new leader. No UV light, it was the last time I used the Loon product even though I thought it was a good idea. An inexpensive light would be a nice addition for guys that like to get on the water before light.

maodiver,

Go here to purchase a cauterizer for $16 or a cauterizer, batteries and replacement tip for $26:

i have used a ultraviolet security lamp for several years, to check fluo
materials. It cost about 10 GB pounds and is well worth the money.
A cautery is also a very useful tool, also battery powered.
They are not tools which have much in the way of wear and tear
and should last indefinately.
I do not use it for drying knot glues. Seems a waste of battery power.

Cabelas has the cautery in the bargain cave, as a plastic bait repair tool. 24 bucks was kinda expensive. I may go for the 16. Betty…already done the stirrups…now you tell me.

Classic reply, Betty!
