I hope you guys can forgive me for trout fishing…
Dave
Was that a 1 wt you were using? If not, then all is forgiven.
The way my fishing has been lately I may have head for the fresh water too!
NAHHHHH!!!
Bill
one weight???!!! they come smaller than a 9???!!!
Oops! I forgot that you were fishing for saltwater brookies. Sounds like the 9 wt was the right stick to use.
dave, with the 9 wt. i caught 'em and gutted 'em all with one stroke.
Aaarrrggghhh!
You could excuse yourself and say you were fishing for chum.
Dave:
I’ve been doing a fair bit of it myself as of late. Lit into a nice bow and a brown this morning on the 2 weight.
Getting ready for the stripers though. Seeing the hardware chuckers on the Charlestown Bridge this morning got the juices flowing.(not the hardware chuckers, the stripers)
Its okay Dave. I fished your home waters yesterday to help keep the balance in the universe. Of course I did not catch like you did. My score, 2 schoolies on, none brought to the boat.

Our weather has been so bad that we’ve taken to “creek crawling” as well. Had to break out a 7’6" 3 wt. The fly’s eye so small I couldn’t get that hair of a tippet through it. First cast was across the creek. Count from the last foray was 2 sunfish and 1 creek chubb.
We’ve had small craft advisories with thunderstorms for the past 2 weekends. This week it’s scheduled to rain every day until next Tuesday!
SW, do you live in Mass? because that’s the way it is here too. Right now we’re in the middle of a Noreaster. I’m hoping to go striper hunting friday, though…
