Trout Stream and Guides near Paris, France?

Hi,

I’ll be in Paris for work during the first week of June and may be able to squeeze half a day for some fishing. Can anyone advise if there are any suitable trout streams or guide within an hour drive of the city for this time of the year?

Thanks.

“As far as I know I am probably the only living human being that has ever caught a fish in the Seine River within the city limits of Paris” Ed Zern “How To Tell Fish From Fishermen” (1947)

Of course Ed wrote this line almost 60 years ago…you will probably be the 2nd person if you are lucky as Ed was.

Probably a #24 Pink Bunny on a 7x tippet.

All aside, I hope you find a nice stream, take along a nice Bordoeaux a hunk of cheese and a loaf of that fine crusty bread. Now that is fishin!

I have friends that own a home in the Normandy countryside with some farmland. Normandy has brown trout in spring creeks, and, they have on on their farm. The water is slow and clear, like Silver Creek in ID, and it is hard to catch them. Surprisingly, the Germans have not bought up all of the lands with streams on them and turned them into expensive sportsmens’ clubs.

I do not know about guide services there. But it does not seem to me that a half day is worth the trouble except to say that one has fished in France.
