Trout stamps?

Here’s a goofy question for today…

I do a bit of “semi-professional” matting and framing in my spare time. I would like to frame some trout stamps and flies. Does anyone know where state trout stamps can be purchased on-line? I use to know of a web site in my favorites that sold state and federal waterfowl stamps and I assume they also carried trout stamps but I seem to have misplaced the address. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Royce…
If I were you, I would post this in the “Things Wanted” section.
I’m sure somebody would give you some help.

I’m such a dope! Of course this belongs in the “Things Wanted” board. I’ll re-post. Thanks!

Royce;
You might try the State’s DNR site’s

Royce,
Iowa used to have real trout stamps that were attached to your license. Beautiful pieces of artwork on them. Sadly, they discontinued that. Now it’s all just a printed sheet listing all of your licenses and habitat stamps on it. I sure miss the old ones.
Somewhere, I have seen postage-style stamps with fish on them - maybe trout. Not sure when or where though, if that is something you would be interested in.

The only limitations we have are the ones we put on ourselves.

There is a website “stampsrus” Michigan trout stamps from 1948 to 1996 $10.00 to $24,00. good luck, let me know what you end up with, I might be interested, Jonezee

sorry ole boy the website is stamps4us

fishnick you get my email? for flies to tie for $$$ for me?

Jonezee,

Tried both those sites and I got stamped alright, but not any fishing stamps, just a bunch of rubber stamps!

how about giving us the whole addy?

You might try your local fly shops and see if they’re allowed to give away recently expired stamps that they still have on hand. Maybe try different states’ departments of fish and wildlife or equivalent and see if they’re willing to give away recently expired stamps. We still have gorgeous stamps here in Jersey and they’re actual stamps too, not stickers. I’m not that old, but licking a stamp sure makes me feel young!

Try this website www.stamps2go.com[/url:f16a3] I went on line and they have quite a few Texas trout stamps at fair price. Also try your local or any state for that matter DNR or State Game Commission website. Good luck.

Jonezee,

Now that’s a Fish & Wildlife stamp getting site, Wahoooo!!!

Yes, over 300 trout stamps and most are only a couple bucks each. I opened the 1981 West Virgina Trout Stamp photo, that one is unusual and in color. Nice trout. The 1971 W.V Trout looks simple green/white but again unusual. I noticed in 1997 someone really lost it, how hard is it not to have a trout picture on a trout stamp? A big green zero. You have to navigate through the State Revenue section to get to what you want but worth it. Good luck, Jonezee

I have a 2002 MN stamp you can have.
Send me an email with your addy if interested. fly_line at yahoo.com

I have a full size print(30x24 inches) mounted on the wall of the 1985 Trout Unlimited stamp. Just under the print is a real size stamp. It is a really nice looking print with a nice frame for it. At the time it was purchased, my parents bought it from Wild Wings in Minnesota. It got handed down to me from my parents a few years back.

Take care everyone and cya around. Mark

Thanks for all the help everyone. Got some good leads. Particularly that “www.stamps2go” site. Thanks Jonezee. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress. Thanks again.

Royce

Have fun with it all, yes, I would like to see the project. Enjoy, Jonezee

I learn more about the world while talking to myself when fishing alone

http://www.fish.state.pa.us[/url:8ea2a] I understand this is the last year for the Pa. trout/salmon stamp. I don’t know what it will be replaced with. I tihnk you can get old stamp prints from their outdoor shop.

Eric,

Stamp or no stamp, I’m sure the state of PA will continue to charge the stamp fee. )-:
Currently $62 for non-resident fishing with trout stamp.
