Traveling Fly Tyers

Whoa, I like that!! I just recently took over a corner desk in the basement as my “fly tying desk”. That bag would be good even for that, just to help me organize my furs & feathers!

Until I got set up on the desk, I kept vise and all my tools, threads, markers & glues in a toiletry carry-on bag, and all my materials, hooks, beads and such in a rolling laptop computer bag. It has a lot of pockets and dividers.

I’d just throw those 2 bags in the car when I thought I’d have time to tie while waiting for my kids to get done with their extra-curricular activities. My vise would simply clamp onto the steering wheel!

Plano boxes are still fairly reasonable. They make one with no dividers that you might look at. I wouldn’t carry it around the stream, but several of them make the trip up to Grayling each year.

I’ve never seen the Plano boxes with no dividers at all. Are they 3700 series or 3600? Could you give me the model number, if you have it handy?

Thanks

Roy

I saw one today at Dick’s sporting goods. Number was 3731. I’ve seen them at wally world and k-mart, too.

I will have to get some of those 3731 boxes. Thanks again.
