Give that boy some real equipment.
If he is coming to the states to fish with us he needs good equipment.
Good looking young pirate.

Harold,
I tried to get him to use one of my Sages, but he thought the Xi2 was a horrible shade of blue and the SLT had the wrong type of action. Would not even consider the TCR!!
He has a little redington waiting for him when he is ready, until then, it is the telescopic, multi-coloured fishing stick with the magnet on the end of the line.
I occasionally take him out to practice the dark arts with a spinning rod and catch mackerel.

At his age it does not matter what he fishes with just as long as he fishes
I agree with him on the choice of rods.
Some of the stuff you use (well I’ll be nice) <grin>
Teach him about the good stuff, you know the 29.95 rods and the 20.00 reels.
He will be able to enjoy them without you worrying about breakage.
heheheheh
