There are just too many things going on in my life right now. It’s not like I contributed a whole lot of knowledge here anyway. The pain I am in has really taken a physical and mental toll. I respect you folks and don’t want it to come through in my posts. 41 years old and the doctors want to replace my left knee. Hands getting crippled so bad I can’t even ty any more. I’ll be back when the doc and I get this squared away. Please understand if I don’t respond to phone calls or emails. It hurts like @#$% just to sit at the computer and type this. Until then God Bless and stay safe.
Very sorry to hear about your troubles. I feel your pain, I’m only 43 and in the same boat physically with you, been this way since I was 29.
My back is messed up bad, really bad and getting worse! and all of this because a lady couldn’t put her eye make-up on at home instead of in her mini-van on the way to work.
I had to hang up a career in Law Enforcement, funny how life changes when we least expect it.
Above all, Thank You for your service to Our Country. Some in this life have to be givers, and it appears you’ve given more than your share.
Please check in once in awhile and let us know how things are going.
nighthawk, we’ll keep you in our thoughts, and be praying for your Miracle from above.
Nighthawk - Take care ole buddy, there are lots of waters to fish still. I don’t know if you belong to the VFW or the American Legion? I do and we take care of our own. Don’t pity yourself, ask and you will have friends around you that will help you when you need it. As the Marines say " The difficult we do everyday, the impossible just takes a little longer" Go for it!
I learn more about the world while talking to myself when fishing alone
Eric,
You know you’ll hear from me, and if you& Amy need anything, I’m only a call or do-able drive away.
Talk to you soon, buddy…you are in my prayers,
Mike
So sorry to hear of your troubles. You
will be in our thoughts and prayers. We are
not “fairweather” friends here. We are
family and we do give a hoot. Please come
back if you need someone to listen or if you
want to get your mind off of things. We
will be here. Warm regards, Jim
Eric Your presence here has been important to many people You have allways been ready to support those having troubles. You will be missed. I hope the doctors find a solution for your problems quickly and look forward to your return.
all leaders tangle; mine are just better at it than most. Jim
I can’t add much more to the sentiments that have already been given except that I share those same wishes for you.
I had a total knee replacement just over a year ago, and although there was a lot of pain involved in the short term, it was maneagable, and now I hardly even know I had trouble with that knee. I’ve struggled with knee problems for the past 25 years or so, and it seems that with each surgery, came a behavior change. Not necessarily a better change, just different behavior. I think psycologically, that trauma tells us that we must do something “different”. Strictly my own hypothesis based on nothing. My point is: Don’t disconnect, if it’s at all possible not to. The supports you get from other people will be as valuable, and healing to you, as your medications. Suffering by yourself can be very depressing, and we’re here to encourage and sustain if you can stay in contact. Do it at your own pace, and on your own terms, as conditions allow. We gotcha’ brother.
On our prayer list. Had bad knee for 44 years and experimental surgery about two years ago was a miracle. I was fourth one doc had operated on. Other three were fine too. Didn’t have knee replaced just cleaned out and bone pounded on, sort of like with a chisel or so, and theory was the cartilage would regrow. Been told that can’t happen; but, something sure did cause for the first time in 44 years there’s no pain and have full range of motion back. Hope you can find relief for the hands too. Will miss your posts and comments. Come back ASAP!
Sorry to hear that you have been having a hard time lately. Chronic pain can really drag you down both physically and emotionally. Hang in there I am sure that things will turn out for the better. Keep in touch if you can and let us know how things are going.
Hey Eric,
I will miss your inspiration at laest untill you rejoin us. Your obvious faith will undoubtedly help heal you. Good luck and good health. My e-mail will always be available if needed.
Sorry to hear about your pain. Hope all is well soon. In the meantime we will keep a light on, a fire burning and have a fresh pot of joe waiting for your return.
I know there are many who suffer without complaining so a lot of folks never know what others are going through. If we lose even one here where everyone contributes their knowledge and experience, it does lessen our base of knowledge and experience. Sorry that you are going through pain and troubles. I hope and pray that you will recover so you can get back on the board like I know you would like to.
