I just received my Tiger Eye blank from MWCRB. I love that coffee colored blank. But, I’m having difficulty deciding what color to use for wraps. The reel seat has a dark rosewood insert. So far Wine colored with Black or Gold tipping tops the list, but I’m not totally satisfied with that. Any ideas out there? I haven’t tried orange/black variegated yet. Any help?
I was wondering that exact same thing. My buddy and I are ordering ours next week. I was thinking a candy apple red, maroon with gold accent.
My favorite colors for the tiger eye is gold and garnet or silver and garnet. I use color preserver with it to bring out the color. I am also doing one in forest green and silver. I think any earth tone colors will do quite well. Just my 2 cents.
My first inclinations would be chestnut, garnet, green or copper metallic. Copper would make a nice trim, too. And cobalt looks great anywhere.
I used candy apple red with no color preserver. When you apply the finish it comes out a garnet color. It is great with gold trim. Garnet thread almost disapears over the brown blank. I have used green over a similar colored RX7+ blank and it turned out nice. I also used gold trim.
