My computer guru friend from Carmel CA just turned me on to a super tool. FREE video computer phone calls via SKYPE , a free download. Anyone with a computer camera and a SKYPE utility can call anyone with same . All for FREE. It’s a real blast to be able to talk to each other via a video phone call. The video ( full screen) quality ain’t nuthin to brag about but that aside, it’s great.
Google “Skype” and download the free version and you’re in.

I agree with you on using Skype. Our oldest son and his wife live in Brussels, Belgium, and we only get to see them once or twice a year. They put us on to Skype when they moved, and we usually visit with them every weekend. Not quite the same as them being here, but it sure is nice to see them as we visit.
