The other Raffle Rod for the VFW guys

This is a little 2pc, 7’6", 5w. I didn’t get too fancy with it, but the wraps took forever to figure out.

Very kewl!!

The first rod I built for Cary had the Vietnam service metal replicated on it. To size.

That would be too cool!

I have been trying to figure something along that line out for a spinning rod for them as well. The Post is hosting the State Convention this year and a couple of nice Veteran themed rods could go over really well.

Cheap advertising, too

If you can’t lay your hands on the actual ribbons, there are wonderful on line sources that show the ribbons very clearly.
I think that would be a really nifty project!!

These two might help

I need to ask to see what might be the best service ribbon to use. I thought about doing an “Armed Forces” rod with each of the services represented somehow. I’m just not sure what to do. A rod with the VietNam service ribbon would be good, but what about younger members from Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, and others? I wish I knew of one ribbon they all get that would mean something.

I don’t know some of this as I didn’t serve. I was 4F. Guys from the Korea and Viet Nam eras know what that is. I do help out in an auxiliary fashion when I can, though.
