I was fishing a local lake today that is stocked in the winter months with trout. The lake is stocked heavy with 10" to over 20" rainbows and browns. I was having a good time untill a 10" bluegill started cruising back and forth in front of were I was fishing. It took all of my will power Not to try for the bluegill but obviously I’m still thinking about it

I didn’t tie on a new nymph but I did bring my drifts unusualy close to the bank. I have a problem. :oops:

My priorities are way out of whack! It was 66? today, almost a record. Not much wind and a slight overcast. A great day to be exploring the ponds.
And I spent the day running holiday errands.
Sigh.

im lucky if my parents take me fishing 1-5 times a year!!! i pretty much only get out when my freind takes me, cuz my parents only let me stay for about 1.5 hours

I think you need to sit your parents down and have a long talk with them. One-and-a-half hours indeed. That’s just a warm-up. lol

ive tried asking to let me fish with a freind and them leave us there and come pick us up when we call and say were done, and they just say they dont feel like taking us. that really makes me mad seeing as we only have a 10 min drive to some good fishing. and then when they take me they complain that they have to go to the bathroom and they dont want to leave me there for 20 min alone.
i think i can handle myself, im a hair under 15, i carry a knife, and the fishing i would do is on base with MPs going around all the time.

As a parent, I can understand their concern. Try to understand that even if they trust you, they might not trust other people.
As for carrying a knife, understand that the knife is simply a tool, and means nothing without the ability, and willingness to use it. Also, that using a knife on another person is a horrible thing. It’s up close and ugly.

I had gotten that impression from your earlier post, but you also seemed to be making an issue of being able to take care of yourself, so I was hoping that I was wrong. However, given that you have said it yourself, then I suggest that you look for a way to do for yourself. You said that you’re on base, so is there any reason that you can’t just ride your bike?

i live like a 10 min. drive from base where theres a bunch of huge ponds with good bass, crappie, and bluegill, riding my bike would take about 30-45 min. my house is off base.
