THE GIFT - Readers Cast (Len Harris) - December 07, 2009

THE GIFT

He went to the big trout stream in the sky November 1967. He left behind a 39 year old bride and 6 children; five daughters varying in age from 17 to 3 years old and one son 10 years old. This was not how Len Harris Sr. had pictured his life ending. He had always believed that he would live to be an old grandpa with many grandchildren. He could not even envision his bride being left alone again. Fate could not be that cruel twice in her lifetime.

Len: You were blessed with a mother, who raised some very fine children, through hard times. In doing so, she taught you that it is not wealth that makes a person happy, it is a family, who look out for each other, though thick and thin!

You are not alone, growing up learned to do without, what other children had. I was raised in somewhat the same conditions, of before ever spending any money that I worked for doing odd errands to think about “Needs, Wants, and sometime Doing Without!”

Because of living through difficulties in your life, it made you a better person. I know living through hard times, made me a better person. Thank you for sharing, your experences, growing up!

You are a very blessed person.
