Good looking little bugs.
We kinda like the “angel hair” type stuff too. Been concocting some ah/marabou bugs for some “soon to be” warmwater ventures.

I’ll be the first to offer my services of which fish these dimunitive little minnows will attract. Kindly send about a dozen to my address and I’ll let you know the outcome. LOL
To me, these are really awesome looking flies. Thanks for posting the pictures … they’ve given me some ideas.
Good looking fly, nice detailed tying instructions.
I noticed in the instructions where you fussed to get the super hair tapered at both ends and then comingle it with your flash material. If you want to try it here’s a way to taper the hair and comingle your flash material at the same time.
I do this with whatever flash and artifical hair I’m tying with. I also do a package of hair at a time
Take a package of hair and a package of flash. Find yourself a flat surface
Take the hair in your hand and pull the hairs out of the bunch. Laying them in a thin layer on the flat surface. I usually do a row about 12 to 18 inches long.
Take the flash material, pull the flash out and lay in thin layers on top of the hair.
Repeat the steps until you’ve laid out all the hair and flash.
Roll the material up, then repeat the process three or four times.
This blends the materials and tapers it for you.
at this stage i’m just susing out different color combinations. after this spring, summer fishing seasons i’ll hopefully have a few difinitive patterns to commit to the vise.
the belly material tho can be made up bulk in advance as you suggest.
That’s how I tie my minnow and baitfish patterns as well, except I leave out the last step with the 5-minute epoxy. I just super-glue (Zap-A-Gap) the head and eyes. I also use the High-Tie method for deeper bodied imitations such as shad and sunfish.
I use Enrico’s Sea Fibers for the hair, and Prismacolor markers for extra color and markings. These are deadly, from the 1" crappie minnows (I tried doing Gummy Minnows for these, but Sili-Skin is very expensive, and the results were lifeless looking, like a jig), to the 4" baitfish, shad and sunfish imitations I use for stripers (freshwater) and large bass.
I highly recommend these materials and techniques.
