The "Forever Stamp"

Something to pass along that some may not know.
With the new postage rate hike came the “Forever Stamp” and that is what it is! It will not be affected by any other rate hikes! For those that do a lot of mailings stock up now.

Jack,

How about a “Forever” gas price!

Went to a meeting last night and when I came home two hours later all the local gas stations had raised their prices another four cents or more.

Criminey!!!

Well Jack, I am sure you know the old saying, nothing last forever. Here in Michigan, the state decided that all trailers (boat, horse, unitity, etc) be issued a one time, "forever’ license plate. You never have to purchase another one again. My 17ft boat traler cost $75.00, my 18 ft horse trailer $200.00 (they do it by capacity, wt. and length combined). Well of course the initial revenue is running out so now the scuttle butt is you will have to have the traler inspected every so few years and have a sticker for that (wonder how much that will cost?). I wonder when the post office will decide that you wll need a “conditional” stamp to go along with that “forever” stamp? Don’t you think big volume users won’t be buying gross’s of “forever” stamps and five years down the road the revenue from stamp sales will start sliding off? I love to send hand written letters, maybe I will start using that cursif font on the computer more often?

Companies that mail in bulk get a very good discount. Buying the forever stamp would not be good business sense for them. Also, postage, as part of a business expense, can at least be partially written off on most sate income taxes. Especially unreimbursed postage.
