I picked my 6’6" 2 weight up last night. It’s BEAUTIFUL, right down to the rod sleeve Joe made. More important to me than the beauty of the rod is the thought & effort Joe put into it’s creation. Joe…I can’t express my appreciation enough!..THANK YOU again! The rod will be baptized in the mountain streams of Virginia with dear friend Grubb this weekend. Tim is bent on “guiding” me to my first brookie.

A 5’ Flourocarbon furled leader and 4’ tippet, if you’re throwing nymph’s, will work well.

Those of us with the 4-piece 2wt’s have an advantage in the wind. They are just a wee bit faster than the 2-piece rods according to my testing.

I will be out that way on Sunday for the festival. What are your plans for Brookie fishing? If your stopping and fishing on your drive in to Virginia I can recommend a few spots I know. Also, what are your Sunday plans? I am hoping to arrive with a couple friends around 9-10am out in Waynesboro.

You are assuming that it will only be a distance event. Never assume anything my friend. It will be more than that, but there will be a prize for the winner!
