Thanks Al and Gretchen Beatty

I followed your directions for tying humpies in Fly Tyer magazine. Wow, that makes tying humpies sooooooooo much easier. I took some #16 yellow ones fishing yesterday and they were a fantastic yellow sally imitation. At least that is what the fish who bit them said!

Thanks again, You two really are great!

Hi Ed,

Thank you for your kind words. By the way, where were you fishing them? If you don’t want to post the location my email is albeatty2@aol.com. Take care & …

Al,
We fished the Arkansas in Colorado from Buena Vista up towards Leadville.

They really were the trick until the PMD’s started coming off at noon. Luckily I had some of those (see my other post) too.

Take care!

Ed

I agree the patern for the humpies was a great help and for the first time in my life I tied some that looked right Many thanks for the great instructions

I’m going to try that pattern too. I do have that very well written and illustrated article. Additionally, I purchased an assortment of Humpies tied by the originators as pattern guides. Oh man those are so perfect that I’m scared to try to duplicate them and too afraid I’d loose one if I fished them. Guess I’ll tye some of my own to fish with and save the originals.
