TFO series one 3wt or Redington Crosswater 3/4wt

Am about to get a new rod for my upcoming birthday and am trying to decide which one of these to go with. I have never cast a TFO, but do have a Redington Redfly 5/6 that I really like. Is the Crosswater the same as the Redfly other that the reel seat and the warranty?

Don’t know about the Redington but I will tell you that I love the TFO I have. Its a 4 piece 3 weight at 8’6" and it’s an awesome rod for the money. I will put it up against any other rod out there for the $140 bucks it costs. You won’t be sorry with it.

Have heard great things about the Echo 3wt. Don’t ignore those rods.

Don’t interpret this as an opinion on which is better of the rods you mention, but FYI I have a Crosswater 7/8 and a Red.Fly 5/6 and I like both equally. The Crosswater is not as high-end in components it all, but I didn’t mind because I don’t use it that often.

If you are receiving the rod as a gift why not ask for a nice little 3 wt bamboo?
My dad used to say when I wished for something “Why wish for a loaf of bread when you can wish for the whole store?”

Did I forget to mention that my gift is limited to $100??

Hey Red,

I picked up a series 1 TFO 3 wt shortly
after they came out. Very pleased with it.
Broke it in a trailering accident. Customer
Service was excellent. Had a new rod in
hand in a few days. Good bang for the buck.
Excellent folks to do business with. Warm
regards, Jim
