LOL, That was one of the things he said could contribute to it, the other is probably toooooo many years of doing it that way and now it is just habit. I am trying to fix it,in fact I am going to casting practice again in the morning and along with the guy that has been working with some of us, we may also have a master fly casting instructor.
I need all the help I can get. Don’t get me wrong, I can cast but I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. Any tips would be appreciated, email me if you want.

Hey JC …at least your certified to give opinion…I can only offer suggestions. Here’s mine to BlueGill Bud…I think you can find a nice Sage DS2 on ebay or some store that has them on close out (still)…very good rod…and at one time one of the premier rods in the 80’s (under RP disguise). Go for a 4-piece you will be happy with the ease of transportaion. just my suggestion and uncertified opinion.
On another board, they started a drive to collect fly tying and fishing gear and supplies for a class being taught to our service people in Iraq. TFO came through with a donation of all of the requested rods. They definitely get my next rod purchase decision!
I have 5 TFO’s and will continue to buy them, especially now after hearing of the donated rods. Like I have said before, I have had questions about the rods and have gotten answers back almost immediately from Rick Pope at TFO. I am very satisfied and highly recommend TFO to anyone. I’m sure there’s others that feel the same way about their rods of choice, but your question was TFO vs. Redington.

Recently our TU chapter had a casting clinic and one of the members brought in his 5 wt TFO which he said cost him $90, so it must be the same model you are talking about. Anyway, I cast the rod while demonstrating some points to him, and I was really impressed with it. What a nice casting rod for the money! Go for it.
I have just about made up my mind that I want the TFO Pro in a 4 wt. Now I just have to decide what length, but I think a 9’.
I went to a casting practice yesterday and one of the people there had the series 1 rod there and it was great and my casting improved to when I used it.
I love the feel of those rods. So for now that is where I am at and I hope to have it in the next few weeks.
